COVID-19 and a number of referees leaving the area have contributed to a shortage of referees in the Bow Valley. We’d love to have any interested players and parents come out and get involved. Your contributions at every level, from new players on half-ice U9 all the way up, have a compounding effect, making more experienced referees available for higher level games. Every person out skating is valuable and appreciated. If we could get 20 new people to come out and do 3-5 games through the whole season, it would make a lasting impact. We’d love to have every seat at Hockey Alberta’s 2 clinics filled.

All “Rates” are split between 2 officials. A very flexible way to generate a little bonus cash for Christmas, or for young guys to pay for some of the gear they’re looking for.

The Canmore referee clinic is coming up right away next week. Please get signed up ASAP if you plan on reffing in the coming season so we have a good idea of numbers. Registration has in the past closed a week before the clinic, which means the window to get signed up for the Canmore clinic is quite short.


CANMORE REFEREE CLINIC – Saturday Oct 2, 2021:
If you’ll be between 12-17 years old in the 2021-22 hockey season, use this link. There are 2 options in the link; register as Level 1 if between the ages of 12-15 and register as Level 2 if between the ages of 16 or 17.

Adult referees are required to complete a background check prior to registering, all information can be found here.

Use this link below if 18 years of age or older in the 2021-22 hockey season.

If you’re not registered to play minor hockey or coach, make sure you add the “Hockey Canada Insurance” option, as it is mandatory to have and will save you a headache later.
